How to Change Email Address on Facebook App/PC

Here we are, you wanna change your Facebook email address and I am going to show you how to do it. Sometimes, you may feel uncomfortable with an email address you have added or linked with Facebook. Then you may think to remove or change it. However, you can do it easily. And there is nothing required but a valid Gmail or other email address.

Note that if your FB account has been compromised. Then it is important to report it and change its password with or without an email address. However, here is how to change your email on Facebook. All you need is a stable internet connection and a smartphone or a computer.

First of all, I will show you how to do it on your smartphone using the Facebook application. Then the procedure to do PC Windows, Linux, or macOS machine. Now let’s get started…

How to Change Email Address on Facebook App

You can easily change your email address with your Facebook application. But you need to update your Facebook application first. Once you do that, follow these steps:

On Android

Open the Facebook app. Tap the menu then Settings & Privacy and then Settings. Now tap Accounts Center then Personal details. Tap Contact Info. Now tap the Add New Contact button at the bottom. Add email, enter your New Email Address in the first box. Then Enter your Facebook Password. Follow the on-screen instruction to confirm it.

That’s it, Facebook will now ask you to confirm the provided email account. So check your email inbox and confirmation by adding your desired email address. However, if you wanna change the new one, then select that email in the Contact Info section. Then tap the delete email option. So this is exactly how to change your email address associated with your Facebook account.

On iPhone

Open the Facebook app. Tap Menu (3 lines at the bottom right). Tap Settings & Privacy then Settings. Tap Accounts Center, then Personal Information. Tap Contact Info. Tap the Add new contact button. Then Add Email Address option to add a new one. Once added, you can make a primary, and delete one if you want. Simply select an email then tap the delete email option.

How to Change Primary Email on Facebook App

You can also change your primary email address on Facebook. Simply add another email to your account first: Go to Menu > Settings & Privacy > Settings > Personal Information > Contact Info > Add Another Email. Once you do that, then tap the email address you have just added and tap the “Make Primary” button. You can also delete the old email then, go back tap on it, and tap the Remove option, that is it.

On Facebook using PC

You can add, change, or remove an email address on your Facebook using your computer. Moreover, if the old Facebook site, layout, or design, and the new design the procedure is a little bit different. I will show you how to do it in the new Facebook design too but below this part of the article.

Thus you can use any computer with a stable internet connection and a web browser. You can use macOS, Windows, or Linux computers to do so. Follow these steps in order to change the email on FB:

Go to your Facebook account. Then click the dropdown at the top right of Settings. Click Edit next to Contact in the General Account Settings. Now click Add another email or mobile number. Enter your New Email and click the Add button.

That is it, now the choice is yours either to make this email primary by clicking on the “Make Primary” option under this email address. However, you can remove the previous one by clicking on the Remove option under that one. Using the same steps as above, you can go ahead and add, change, or edit your phone number associated with the Facebook account.

Updated: Change Your Email on Facebook using PC

Only a few steps are different while doing so in the classic and new Facebook design. Don’t worry I am going to show the same procedure you can follow in the new FB design. Here is how to do it in the new Facebook design:

Loing to your Facebook account. Click your profile photo at the top right. Now click Settings & Privacy then Settings. Click Accounts Center, then Personal Details. Click Contact Info and then click Add New Contact. Select Email Address or phone number. Follow the instructions.

Facebook may ask you to confirm the action by entering your password again. Also, they will send you a confirmation email to that email address. Then get into your email inbox and verify the action. After that, there is a clear option in the contact section. For example, you can make an email address primary, remove it, or allow the friend to include my email address in the Download your Information.

How to change the primary email on Facebook on mobile

To set another as your primary email on Facebook using your phone. Follow these easy steps: Open your Facebook app, then go to the menu. Tap Settings & Privacy then Settings. Now tap the Personal Information option then Contact Info. Add another email or tap the primary option under the email you have already added. This way you can add or make an existing email primary on the Facebook app.

Can I change the email address on Facebook without my password?

There is no way to change an email address on your Facebook without entering your password. Because this is the only way Facebook confirms that it’s the account owner implementing changes. If there is someone telling you they will do it for you, you will get nothing but compromise your account privacy and waste your precious time.

Why can’t I change my primary email on Facebook?

You cannot change your private email on Facebook unless you add another one. Add another email to your Facebook account by getting into Settings, General Settings, click Edit next Contact and click Add another email or phone number option. Enter your new email to add it then select it as primary. If you want to, remove the old one by clicking on the Remove option under that in the Contact section in General Settings.
